About ER3

ER3 Engineering began as a collaboration to solve a problem. In 2020, the team at Experiential Resources (ERi) had a client who needed expert-level services in order to analyze an existing ride, as well as to produce options for solutions. ERi understood the problems and had potential solutions, however in order to execute they needed a higher level of mechanical capability than was present in-house at the time. Enter Ron Schapf, a mechanical engineer with 30+ years of experience who also had a high level of interest in putting his skills to further use in the fields of amusement and adventure attractions. In order to collaborate on this project Ron was hired as part of the permanent ERi team in 2021, and a new division within ERi was formed: ER3 Engineering.
The ER3 Engineering team members each have decades of experience in their areas of focus. These include:
Mechanical engineering, design, and analysis
ASTM F24 standards
Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) standards
Regulatory compliance
Safety and ride systems design
Installation and inspection
Operations and training
Guest experience
When approaching a project, the ER3 team evaluates solutions from every aspect to ensure that what is being delivered has sound design and engineering. To us, good design means that there is a high level of compliance with applicable standards and that safety, functionality, durability, and simplicity are optimized. We consider ongoing inspection and maintenance requirements and strive for a user-friendly design for both employees and guests. We also throw in a healthy measure of “elegance” to ensure the designs are aesthetically pleasing.
